Principal's Message

Welcome to Lexington Middle School! My name is Kayla Shadwell and I am excited to be named as the new Lexington Middle School Principal.  I am very excited that I get to continue to serve our students, staff, and community in this new capacity, and look forward to getting to know each one of you.  Our teachers and staff are so glad that you are here and excited for what this new year brings.  LISD fosters a community of lifelong learners by providing an environment that builds self-worth, integrity, and respect for diversity while striving for excellence.   I firmly believe that the most important responsibility that school leaders face is to create, nurture, and maintain a campus culture that is conducive to building and maintaining relationships, consistent expectations, and effective instruction, with student learning and success.  I place great value in the time that I have spent here in building meaningful relationships and rapport through positive communication and community involvement. I believe this healthy interaction encourages the growth and development of all stakeholders.   I am very blessed to be able to live out my purpose with passion every single day here at LISD!
